Confession

I am addicted to...

This semester has been one of my easiest semesters of school which is great, but I am left finding something to do with all of my extra time. I have picked up a few addictions to help me waste my time. I definitely could be doing more productive things with my life but they probably wouldn't be as fun as...

Sudoku

When I first heard about this puzzle game I had no interest at all in it. But now I LOVE it!! I feel like a total nerd spending a couple of hours a night working on these puzzles but they are a lot of fun. Try it, I know you'll love it!

TV

This might be an ok addiction to have if I was watching anything remotely worthwhile....but I'm not. With all this extra time on my hands I have gotten addicted to two mind numbing pointless reality shows: The Hills and Keeping up with the Kardashians. Both of these shows basically follow around rich people who do nothing but travel, play and show the world all of the drama going on in their lives while all along getting paid to do it. It is stupid and pointless and a waste of time but I love it and I can't get enough of it.

American Idol

I didn't put American Idol under the TV category because I don't think it belongs under the same category as The Hills and Kardashians -at least it serves a purpose. This is a hard show to commit to since it is on two nights a week, but I still make sure I watch it both nights. I don't know what I am going to do once the season is over -I may have to pick up a new addiction. Any suggestions?

American Idol disappointment

I am a pretty big fan of American Idol. I watch the show every week, I call at the end to vote for contestants and I get upset when the people I like get kicked off. I have a few favorites this season, one of which is Michael Johns. He is a great singer and performer, someone who I thought could win the whole competition. So I didn't watch the results show on Wednesday because I didn't think they were going to kick anyone off -it was a special Idol Gives Back charity event thing to raise money. Anyway, so I am driving to school this morning listening to the radio and I heard shocking news....Michael Johns got voted off the show!! I couldn’t believe it. This guy is really good; one of the best this season. He has great performances every week. (Here is this week's performance.) He will probably still go and make it big, like most of the good ones do, but I think he could have won the whole thing. Maybe last week wasn't his best performance but there are definitely worse contestants.

run run

I have come to the conclusion that I really like running. Since I don't play any sports, running makes me feel somewhat athletic -plus I get tan, which, let's be honest, is pretty much the main reason I run! Anyway, I went running with a friend this afternoon. It was really nice because I usually don't go running with anyone and it was nice to have some company other than my iPod. And it was nice to spend some time with someone I don't normally hang out with. I have always wanted to run a marathon. And after talking with my friend on my run today and hearing about her stories running marathons it made me want to run one even more. So, I have decided to make a commitment and start small by running a half marathon this year!

P.s. Occasionally (just for fun) I will check my horoscope and today's entry was pretty close to my running experience, so I thought I would share, "Shared activities throughout the day could bring you closer to a friend or love partner, dear Leo. You might attend a sports event, a lecture or workshop, a concert, or play - or you could drive out into the country, or just hang out together. Conversations about a number of different subjects may increase your understanding of each other, and leave you with a lot of wonderful memories of the day. Have fun!"
